    I was on the train this morning (like normal during the week) when this girl was talking (bottle blond). Her statement went along the lines of 'this bloke must have been diabetic, he was acting realy weird, and was injecting himself'

    Having some Diabetes UK leaflets in my hand bag and the web adress for this forum to hand, I gave them to her saying 'not all diabetic inject, and certainly not in public, and not everyone who injects is diabetic, oh and by the way I'm diabetic and it's not catching'

    I don't know if the girl will find out more, but I had to do something to dispel that horrendous myth.:devil:

    LOL - I often act wierd in public (or so my wife tells me), but that is nothing to do with my diabetes I suspect :)

    I do inject in public though - descretely though - doubt anyone really notices

    I have seen the girl again, and she gives me a wide berth, I am told I look intimdating, and yes it is deliberate.

    LOL - now she thinks that all diabetics are wierd AND intimidating :)

    I can live with that if it deters 'air heads' from approaching me.

    I'm good at intimidating, even do it to the boss at work, which does very little for my promotion chances...

    I'd love to know how be intimidating - but it's a bit difficult when one is a forty-something, with startling green eyes, white hair and beard.

    Those chuffin' elves have really been slacking this year, and with only a few days to go, we're well behind quota, and can I get the missus
    to up the intake so I'm in shape? Can I heck. High protein this, five a day that, moderate carb the other. Sheesh. Doesn't help that
    she's deaf as a post... "Where's me Red Suit" says I. "Veg Soup?" she says.

    " In your dreams !! " I said.

    Must have a word with that David Tennant fella - he knows something I don't..... Wonder if he's in my Good Boys list...?
