Just felt like having a moan cos I'm at work doing an audit I'm not enjoying!
My rant is the staff restaraunt where I work. I work in a state of the art building, but no one is allowed to have a kettle or microwave. We are not even allowed dedicated kitchen areas to prepare our own food. Wwell it is fast aproaching winter, so I want something warm for lunch.
The staff resteraunt is our main source of hot food. There are many people with different dietry needs and not one of us is taken into account. OK so I'm a vegetarian, but that is a by the by. It is very difficult to get a low carb, low fat hot meal with a low sugar low fat hot dessert.
There is fresh fruit and fruit salad on offer, but I don't want something from the chiller when I am col already. Soup is often too spicey and sends the blood pressure of many people sky high.
There is a forum where people can raise their concerns and complaints and more people are doing so more often, so hopefully things will change, I just needed a whinge, so thanks everyone for listening. I feel better!

Hah!
I have it worse.
My meals come from a kitchen that is unhygenic, with poor choice of food, always out of stock of something and nothing is ever ready on time.
Oh, wait - I work from home - damn, that'd be my fault then
;)
yeah I know some poor sods have it realy bad, but it was good to have a moan...
I used to work at a company with a truly great canteen - open for morning break and lunch - and offered a breakfast menu that included the best 'full english' breakfast I have had to this day - sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, blackpudding, beans and toast - aghhhh.
I put on damn near 2 stone before I left there (pre-diabetes days, obviously)
:)
I like the full breakfast, but go for the meat free alternatives to sausages and bacon, and I never could get my mouth round black pudding!
I tried some vegetarian blackpudding the other day - really, hard to believe you could do a veggie alternative to a blood based product, but on sale in Tesco, so gave it a try.
It was disgusting.
The vegetarian haggis, on the other hand, was almost as good as the real thing AND seemed to have little effect on my blood sugar.
I actually sent my friend in Scotland vegetarian haggis as she had never seen it before. She thought it was wonderfull, even thoe she likes meat!
