Actually, it was kind-of already there - I just renamed the 'General' forum to make it specifically non-diabetes and moved a few post from there to other forums.

We now have a 'General Diabetes Discussion' forum and a 'General Non-Diabetes Forum'

The possibilities here are endless, I'll have to get my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with!

    I'll give it a shot :)

I read somewhere online that - probably at seti@home - that there's a curios collocation between computer owners and cats - I have one, a silver grey stripy thingy puss cat. Thinks she's one of my girls - tho' when she want's letting out at 3:30 am, I seriously doubt it. :D

I suppose if you work long hours, or away from home, having a pet is impractical - I'm a homebird Dray bird, and it wasn't my choice any ways, gorgeous as she is - but, I wondered - do computer users go for cats?

We had our cat before we had a computer. My last manager was a wizard withthe computer and adores cats, but the manager I have now who also adores cats is hopeless with the computer.

Personally I prefer cats to dogs, you don't need to take a cat for a walk when it's raining, snowing or worst of all in the dark or when you've over slpet and are already running late for an important meeting!

ahhh no - cats are selfish and the devils creation.

Dogs for me - two of them.

I heard that the connection is normally:
    Cat owners : Apple Machintosh
    Dog owners : PC users

To paraphrase something I heard from a comedian, If you fell downstairs and broke both your legs, a dog would go and fetch the phone for you and make a cup of tea whilst you waited for the Ambulance. A cat would go work out whether it could use the tin opener itself, and if it couldn't, start eating you.

All the cat owners and lovers in our office (about 20 of us) use PCs at work and at home.

I'd still rather have a cat, I allso have a gold fish called Fred. Everyone likes Fred Fish.

I would still say that the percentage of Mac owners that have cats is higher than the percentage of PC owners.

It because all those graphic designers and arty-types use Macs, and they all have cats.

    Its true, honest

I have a PC at home, I also have a beautiful Bull Terrier, two gorgeous cats, a budgie, a rather fat dwarf rabbit and soon will have a mouse (which my daughter has already named Remy), does this mean anything?

Can I come and live with you? If there was someone home all the time we'd have a cat (for me) and a dog (for the husband). Not sure if my grown up son is all that interestead in looking after a pet, but the little one would love whatever we have to bits!

S'true, when I was a single, I had a black shaggy gorgeous woofler, but 'cause i worked all hours, I gave her (Sasha) away to a good home.
An immensely practical decision, but even now, years later, I miss her. It's a man-dog-thing.

Now we/I have a cat called Sniff who sits and stares at me -when she does that, I check my sugars. She's very accurate. I must smell different :)
