Yesterday morning I was very busy at work and didn't have my 10:00 am snack and when I started feeling weird and shaky I checked my sugar and it was 3.2 so I had a wholewheat roll. It took about half an hour before I felt a little better but have notice that each time my sugar drops below 3.5 that I feel terribly flat for the rest of the day, I still feel very odd this morning. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience the same flatness after dropping so low?

I sometimes feel odd after a sugar low. I find a fizzy sugary drink is a quick fix followed by some kind of carbohydrate or a meal if one is due. The ideal reading is between 4 and 7, but the ideal level between these figures varies.

I can't say I have noticed it myself (but I wasn't looking), but I suppose there could be a logic in there.

If there is a delay somewhere in the bloodsugar > energy thing, then letting it get low might take a while get back to stability.

I think I read somewhere that the liver releases sugar in cases where the body needs to call on emergency reserves - maybe it needs recharging?

Hi there from a Type One Diabetic for 37 years.....if I may answer your question....
"it was 3.2 so I had a wholewheat roll. It took about half an hour before I felt a little better but have notice that each time my sugar drops below 3.5 that I feel terribly flat for the rest of the day?"
OK you eat a wholewheat rolll....excellent....however what about the sugar boost
to get your level back up to normal???
If this not achieved you could just ride the sugar low with your Whole Wheat Roll....Are your other hypos on days when you have eaten a Whole Wheat Roll? Heres hoping I help...
