    More diet than strictly Diabetes.

Though Google is my friend  I can't seem to get a definitive answer on this.

We've used used semi-skimmed or skimmed milk for years. But someone mentioned I could be missing out on calcium if I don't use full fat milk.

    Any truth in that?

Again not sure how much truth there is in it, but I was told skimmed milk has added calcium. If you're worried look at the different kinds of milk in you local supermarket as there seem to be many with added extras like Omega 3, vitamins and the like.

If you're still worried check with doctor or dietician and talk about a calcium supplement which may help as long as it doesn't interfere with other meds.

Actually, thinking about it, I need to be carefull as I like fizy drinks (diet, low suagr ones these days) and they are supposed to be bad for the bones cos it makes all the calcium disapear!

I only drink the skimmed stuff myself, but I think it lists the calcium content on the pack - I've got to go to Tesco tonight, so I'll compare them side by side.

sorry - forgot to post back here.

I checked and the skimmed milk showed more calcium than the full milk (marginally).

Not sure whether it is 'added' or natural.

    Thanks mate :)

Don't suppose it matters whether whether it is 'added' or natural. I mean, like, we get fluoride in water and toothpaste.
The important thing it's not lacking I guess.

I think calcium is probably more important to women, although men still need it. I asked my doctors about a calcium, vitamin and dietry supplements, one frowned and said I didn't need them, the other said if they made me feel better they'd do no harm but couldn't prescribe them for me.
