Welcome to Diabetes Buddies

  1.

While out shopping Thursday I bought a magazine from my local Holland and Barratts called Healthy. It has a number of interesting articles in it (including one about a lady diagnosed as type 1 in her 30's)

In one article on learning to eat less, it is suggested that 200 mcg of chromium each day may help to regulate bloody (should have said BLOOD)sugar and that caffine should be cut out as it plays havoc with our blood sugar and makes is want to eat more!

That's interesting - I drink way to much caffeine in general, not sure I am ready to stop yet though.

Chromium? Aside from chewing on my car bumper or buying 'pills' - where else is it found? (hint: I am looking for answers 'beer', 'cheese' or 'chocolate')

I'll go do some research on the caffeine thing to see if there are any other implications for diabetes.

I looked for pills in my local Morrisons and couldn't find any, so off to my local Holland and Barratts again I think.

I'm open to correction on this, but i think it's in some shellfish and some nuts. I need to do some research, would be nice if it was in chocolate and beer too! Not sure about cheese.
