I didn't feel discriminated against till I went to lunch. In our staff restraut we have a stand selling health cover for quite a big discount.

Working on the assumption that if you don't ask you don't get I asked what is the cover for diabetics. the man pulled a face asked type 1 or type 2 and are you on medication. The expression on his face and tone in his voice told me all I needed to know.

It also isn't helped by my husbands osteoarthritis, but I know where I can get health cover if I want it and it's not from the British Under Pant Association! Perhaps I was swayed a little too much by the discount?

I have often wondered if private health insurance was available for Diabetics - are you saying that you found some, if so, who offers it, and what was the 'penalty' cost?

It is available through Diabetes UK, although I don't know how much it costs.
