I have type 1, and since I got out of the hospital, my evening snack after insulin does not hold me till morning. I eat peanut butter, crackers and some fruit. Does anyone know of a better combanation?

Am I right in thinking that you take your insulin at a regular time? My experience of type one's is that they adjust their insulin compared to that they eat....

  1.

I take it at the same time every night, lantus is 25 units at that time, humalog is adjustable when I take it at that time.

I'd check with your medical team to be sure.

My own view would be to reduce your insulin slightly and monitor carefully.

Unless you are already at your target weight, it is always a wiser option to reduce the insulin rather than increase the snack.
