    Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get sugar consumption under control? l was diagnosed Type II four years ago, and have been eating sugar uncontrollably for at least 25 years.

    Try eating fruit. I keep a few grapes and a couple of apples next to me at work. Also try to eat regular meals. I treat myself to the odd bar of chocolate or coffee with extra sugar in it. Also look at other areas of diet. I attended a workshop for healthy eating where I found even as diabetics we have peaks and troughs and when we hit that trough we crave more sugar, so the tirck is to find slow release sugars.

    I'm sure someone will have more suggestions for you but hope this helps.

    One thing I have found that is wonderful is Carb Smart Ice Cream by Breyers. It is wonderful stuff and it's sweetened with Splenda. They make also make the fudge pops and the vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate. My husband loves this ice cream also and he isn't a diabetic. The pops satisfy my sugar craving. The fudge pops are the best. Some sugar free stuff is HIGH in carbs so watch out for that. Try the Glucerna brand snack bars. They are good and also help when you have a sugar craving. I like to put strawberries in a bowl and cover them with Splenda and then let them sit overnight in the fridge. They are so good and taste sweeter that when I used real sugar. I hope this helps. I know it's tough but hang in there!:smile:

    The ice cream and fudge pops sound good, where can I get them from?

    I'm over here in the USA and I get them from Winn-Dixie or Wal-mart. I would think most of the major chain grocery stores would have them. They are soooo good!! I hope you can find them and that you enjoy them as much as my husband and I have!:smile:

    We have ASDA in the UK, which is part of the Wal-Mart chain. there is one in my favorite shopping centre, I'll have a look.
