    Wrong end of the country for me - I'm 'oop north', near Wigan.

    I have often wondered if it was worth setting up regional diabetes support groups - like weight watchers but without the commercial slant, guilt and scary group leader. In fact, not like weight watchers at all really :)

    Might be worth it, I guess - anyone know if it exists already?

    There are formal regional diabetes groups throughout the UK, run by Diabetes UK (www.diabetes.org.uk) Their mettings are once a moth and tend to be too late for me. I'm one of those boring sorts who finds out these things!:shocked:

    When I went to college, I moved from Cheadle to Bolton - a distance of 20miles or so.

    As far as the locals were concerned, I was a poncy southerner.

    I have now lived near Bolton for over 20 years - they still count me as a southerner though, except now, when I go back to Cheadle I am classed as a bloody northerner.

    Can't beat a little parochialism :)

    My mum and dad have been married around 50 years. When he goes 'home' to see his sisters in Devon, he is consider an outsider, and while in London is considered a country bumpkin. You can take the boy out of the farm, but you can't take the farm out of the boy!
