    I've never had that explained to me, but was told today that when blood and sugar is found in urine, it's actually keytones? Is this true and what is keytones?

    Hi Deb - its Ketones rather than Keytones (I corrected the title of your post to help others searching for this)

    The definition is : 'Acidic substances produced when the body uses fat, instead of sugar, for energy.'

    Its not a good sign for diabetics, but as I understand it, one of the targets for those on the Atkins diet
