    Hi there

Just wondering if there are any more pregnant diabetic women out there or is it just me?

Well I can't speak for the others, but I am not ;)

Were you diabetic before the pregnancy, or is it a form of gestational diabetes ?

Must be difficult to manage either way - is there anything particular you need to watch out for?

Well, as a fella, all I can do is offer is a couple of suggestions, because this site shows up quite well on Google :)

If you were diabetic before you were pregnant, are you type one, or type two?

Is there anything that you could post here that is specific about diabete and pregnancy?
I mean, posting online anything about pregnancy can be quite umm, a bit embarrassing,
like thrush for instance, which diabetic couples can have a problem with at the best of times,
but you never know unless you can be more specific. Regards

One of my friends had gestational diabetes with both of her children. She is pretty fit and active (does karate goes to the gym, rides a motor bike). Both she and the children (now aged 12 & 14) are the picture of health, although she goes for an annual diabetic check as will the children when they are older.

Don't know about diabetes in pregnancy, although at my hospital there is a diabetic ante natal clinic. There are plenty of places to look for more informmation nhs.uk/conditions diabetes.org.uk and I think netdoctor.com Also try your local library for books and the like.

Although it is September now, so you maty already have had baby. Either way, good luck, I wish you both the best of health.:grouphug::kissing::twosome::flowers:

Ow, gee, what was going through my head when I wrote that? I hope I didn't frighten the poor lady away. Must keep my pointy ears under my hat.

    Sorry.

As C.W. said, it's 5 months later, so as a dad of three, I hope everything went well BcareB, and good health.
