As a child I used to lick my plate if I really liked something, and now I like to eat my dish :) I love different salads and make them at least four times a week, anything from a whole wheat pasta and grilled chicken salad to a tomato and fresh basil or all around the frisge and pantry one. To add some crunch and one more flavor to the salads, I make edible bowls. I cut pita bread (best from Joseph's Bakery because it's diabetic certified) into triangles and line an oven safe bowl with them, making sure there are no uncovered spaces. I place it in the oven and broil for a couple of minutes. After the bowl cools off it's perfect to serve a salad in, plus you can break pieces off to add to the mix of greens, to your tuna or grilled veggies for an extra crunch :)
