Welcome to Diabetes Buddies
The Forum where Diabetics Help Diabetics!

  1.

    Friends,
I was diagnosed with type2 diabetes 3 days ago. I am going through an emotional pain.
I feel I have let every one down.

I am 38 and I have a 5 year old daughter and 1 year old son and aging parents. All of them depend on me. I really have some huge responsibilities over the next 25 years.
I am willing to fight this disease. I need help and support from you. I need friend like me.

    Hi Fightothefinish

you haven't let anyone down. I was diagnosed in 2006 and was going through a particulalry stressfull time and felt like s**t. Things sorted themselves out as best they could. Then in Spetember the childminder let me down, so here I am in January with no annual leave and getting over a cold and worrying about who will look after my little boy when hubbys leave runs out later this month.

You have come to this forum, so tell us your problems if you feel able and we will utter words of wisdom if we are able. It is always a shock to find we have a long term medical condition. I know people who have always done the right things to keep healthy and fit and are sitll diabetic because it is in their families.

For more support why not join something like Diabetes UK? There is a bi monthly magazine and there is a discussion forum too. Go to www.diabetesuk.org
