Interesting article. I suspect it's the same about type 1's too. (UK)
Bottom line of the article is that the chap is a type 2, and his Body Mass Index (BMI) is considered too high, but, technically, he's not
overweight. He's concerned because when people hear he's a type 2, they automatically assume he's an over-eater and obese, and
the prejudice he faces.
My experience is that my GP and diabetic nurse no longer use BMI. But they do measure my tum, weight and hight, and I don't
know how that works. I can see most of my feet :)
I haven't seen my feet for years, but that is not just because my tummy is too big.
I think one of the ways to worry folks into an early grave is to worry us all about our weight and what we eat. We are all on some sort of diet or another. I have a a small husband, he is naturally small. For years he was told he was under weight. He hit fifty and started to get nearer his ideal wieght only to be told he was getting fat! Eat sensibly, and enjoyably. I am going for my daily chocolate fix soon...
