Welcome to Diabetes Buddies
|
At the moment I am doing a very boring job, which involves putting lots of alpha numeric listings on to a spread sheet.
To ease the boredome I am visiting my Diabetes Buddies and later if it gets too much will also plug into some music. It is also fast aproaching lunch, so will go lower my sugar levels while my colleagues raise theirs!
When every one else has a bordom bites moment, what do you do?
'Ullo. Me again. Sorry
As you can see, here first. But since I'm into Seti (search for exta-terrestrial-intelligence) and are part of one of many hundreds of teams, in my case
Team Phoenix Rising, I nip onto their forum - usually to make fun of someone.
I do a couple of blogs - I'll not bother linking from here - it's the inane ramblings of a slightly potty family man, and a more serious stroke blog - being a stroke survivor. Other than that, you'll catch me hanging around The Stroke Association forum, helping out in my sweet kinda way :)
I'm in the odd position where I get the odd phone call from the local Job Centre Plus saying they don't want to see me - which is annoying, so I'm looking for a Business course to get back up to speed - I used to be an 'enquiry agent' ( Dray, PI !!)
Hi Dray,
looks like its you and me again. People will talk you know. Oh what the heck, what do I care for convention, let them talk. I have come to the conclusion that the best rumours are the ones I start about myself. It is amazing how they come back to me too. And if I walk round the corner to find someone talking about me, I tell them how pleased I am to know they have realise just how important I am, even if it is rude, nasty or derogatory! Pity Oscar WIld didn't name his play The Importance of Being Caroline!
Hey, it's Monday and I have the rest of the week to look forward to, what more can a girl ask for except diamonds and chocolate...

Today is one of my rare days at work. The childminder let me down badly and at the moment we are jumping through hoops, taking leave and flexi just to provide child care, so atthe moment no chance of getting bored.
Actually I am thinking of becoming a childminder just to be at home with my little angel aka escapee from Mothercare etc... Lots of ideas, think I'll feed the little buggers bags of sweets and bottles of cokes and send them all home hyper...
Working from home is champion!
It helps me get better control over my diabetes and saves me time and money as well.
I wouldn't trade it for a 20% pay increase
I have been thinking of working from home for ages, just need my boss to take it seriously and give me lots of typing and stuff I can do on the computer while little sod plays with the lap top. I got shopping sussed and do it on line so would only need to go to the bank once a month and take little sod to school. It saves about £200-£250 a week, so is as good as a pay rise...
I'm loathe to describe what I do from home as work.
I get to edit, comment on, differ and correct the theories and thesis from some of the biggest brains on the planet. I get a real kick seeing my views incorporated in their peer reviews. I also get to do the odd (and sometimes, very odd) ghost write of sermons.
If you love to write, and you're willing to demonstrate like wot you can scribble, there are bit's and bobs you can pick up to do outside your regular 8'till'6. Sometimes you have to stick your oar in and shout "Oy, I can do that", and stick you leg out and trip 'em up.
My fave is old fashioned detective fiction. There are lots of writers groups on the net, - you know the sort of thing "she rolled her eyed, he rolled them back....." a little reward for a little help and a good spell checker leaves everyone happy
Sounds good, think I'll take it up. I actually have several friends who write, although they are specialist so need a more conventional job to make up the spending money...
