    I'm assuming you're Stateside?

Sadly, a lot of people are undiagnosed diabetics. You're a bit unclear which came first? The stroke or the diabetes? I've/have had both

In my case, the blood sugar test was done as part of the process of determining the cause of my collapse. In Brit terms, I've heard of some darn
high blood sugars, but 67 isn't one of them. So assuming you're stateside, 67, roughly dived by 18, which gives about 3.5 mmol/l, is pretty low.

The symptoms of a diabetic coma are similar to a drunkenness, some forms of epilepsy, a stroke or a small stroke, so they have to check all the
angles. I can only talk from personal experience. Long term undiagnosed diabetes can lead to strokes, amongst other problems.

Diabetics, with proper management and care, and a little bit of annoying self-discipline, can live normal lives. Strokes are a bit more complicated.
There's a lot reasons why people suffer from strokes, so I'd recommend The Stroke Association, which I comment on occasionally.

    Best Wishes. Dray.

Can't offer any advice, but wanted to say I hope your best friends mum is better soon. It is a worry when someone we care about is ill.

I've been lower than 3.5 and still been on my feet (just - close thing) so it sounds to me like there are other complications.

As I understand it, if you have a hypo, it is very quickly fixed by a glucose injection, but I have no idea of the implications for someone who has had a stroke, or whether there are other side issues that happen once you are in a coma.

    Hope all goes well.
