Someone had to mention it :boogie: (couldn't find an Elvis one)

Anyone else woken by the earthquake last night?

Here in Sheffield, I think I got about 5 out of 8 seconds of it. Heard this woosh! and my skeletal structure vibrated like crazy, Sniff The Cat went bonkers, and I yelled "Earth Quake!" Gawd knows why - first thing that popped into my head. Bear upstairs said the bed wobbled like a jelly. She thought I'd tripped and fallen on to the bed. (fall, me, bed, jelly - I'll get my head around that one day  ).

It was like being stood too close to the edge of a platform, when a through train goes past - which is surprising since we're about 60 miles away in a straight line from the epicentre in Market Drayton . Only damage was to my plasma tv - got a vertical line down it now. No probs - to be replaced on Monday :)

Weirdest thing was the way the local birds behaved. Dawn chorus was 4 hours early, and they flew around as tho' it was daylight. Even Foxy the local fox put an appearance in on the picnic table. After an hour though, the birds were gone, and even the hum of traffic from a main road 1/2 a mile away was absent.......

It didn't affect me, but some of my colleagues felt it, as did our branch near Leeds where people were working late.
